TV Lifts are a perfect solution for those who love their TV but don’t want it taking up a position of dominance 24/7.

Some people don’t use the television very often. Others prefer to hide it from the kids. I simply prefer a minimalist look. How does a motorised TV lift work?

With a TV lift, the TV, suspended on telescopic poles, can be moved up or down with a motor. As the motor is activated the poles extend, raising the TV to the perfect viewing position.

How do you fit a motorised TV lift?

The hardest thing about fitting a TV lift is actually finding or building the perfect cabinet to house it. Whether it should be recessed into a floor, a worktop or the end of a bed, the cavity needs to be the right size to house the TV and the lift when fitted together.

Where can you use a TV lift?

TV lifts really can be used anywhere. So, when it comes to a TV lift, your imagination is the limit.

• Bars (particularly in home bars that have been popping up post Covid lockdown)

Having said that, you can get TV lifts that are resistant to wind and rain, perfect for use outside (although I’m not sure whether there’s a smart solution to deal with the glare). Or, if you enjoy a long soak in the tub, there are waterproof TV lifts on the market that could be perfect to get that optimal viewing position while soaking in the suds.
