Choosing the kitchen storage system for your space

When it comes to kitchen storage, we like to give Box 15 customers plenty of choice. However, we also like to ensure that every product earns its place in our range, by offering something that other kitchen storage units don’t.

We have 4 main kitchen storage solutions designed to keep all those kitchen bits and bobs tidy. These include:

  • Hang storage
  • Hang Top storage
  • Grid kitchen storage
  • Horizon shelving

So, what are the differences between the various kitchen storage solutions we offer? In this week’s blog, we’ll take you through the four different kitchen shelving storage solutions we have and the main differences between them, to help you decide which kitchen storage solution is best for your space

HANG storage

HANG storage is a suspended lightweight racking system that provides a useful storage extension to your kitchen cupboards. Its ingenious design means that it is suspended from the cupboard, avoiding the need to make unsightly holes in your brickwork and tiles.

The HANG storage structure is made up of studs and crossbeams that can be fitted beneath any kitchen cabinet, making use of the often dead space between the cabinet and the worktop.

Accessories for the HANG system can be bought separately so you can design the unit to deliver exactly the storage you need. Accessory options include knife blocks, chopping boards, kitchen roll holders, shelves and hooks. These simply hook over the cross bars to deliver bespoke storage in whatever sequence works for you.

HANG TOP storage

HANG TOP Storage is the same stud and crossbar system, but this time, the uprights are fixed directly to the worktops. Modules are 430mm high and come in widths of 600mm, 900mm and 1200mm, in black or in titanium. And, because versatility is everything, you can choose one or two crossbars.

Accessories for the HANG TOP storage system are the same as those for the HANG system above, which gives users the option to use both systems in the same room. So, the HANG TOP could be used in one area of the room to deliver over worktop storage where there isn’t any, with the HANG storage solution used where there are cabinets.

GRID kitchen storage

GRID kitchen storage is a modular rack system that uses compression to fit between the worktop and the wall cabinets. The structure is modular and made up of Aluminium poles. At the base of the solution are a series of plastic drawers for smaller accessories such as sandwich bags, bottle corks, bottle openers or batteries, while above, you can choose the accessories you wish to incorporate to store all of those bits that would normally clutter up your worktops.

GRID accessories include a 250mm shelf, a wine glass holder that can hold 5 glasses, a kitchen roll holder which raises the roll up rather than out, keeping your accessories away from the work area space, and hooks in two different sizes, perfect for spoons and ladles, tea towels and dishcloths, oven gloves or bread bags.

HORIZON shelving

Then, we have HORIZON shelving.

HORIZON is a minimalist shelving system that provides a narrow shelf, perfect for storing salt and pepper shakers, small jars and bottles, with a selection of accessories that can be hooked to the internal structure of the shelf to create a seamless result.

The HORIZON kitchen shelving can be used in any room, but bathroom use for towels or bathrobes is a popular option.

HORIZON accessories include a kitchen roll holder, a set of 3 hooks, a soap dispenser holder, a chopping block which also serves as a knife block or a sponge holder.

In addition to under-cabinet storage and worktop storage, we also have floor-to-ceiling storage solutions available on our website. So, if you’re short on storage, take a look at the smart storage solutions we have on offer. If you have any questions about sizes, colours or even accessories available, our customer support team will be happy to help.
