Professional presentation skills for the office

The perks of a presentation board in the office

Installing a dry erase board (sometimes referred to as a whiteboard or a dry-wipe board) in the office is essential when it comes to creating a workspace where employees can come together to ideate, collaborate and present. This kind of collaboration is key to generating and sharing fresh ideas that can move your business forward.

Whether presenting to customers, employees or staff, having an effective presentation set-up is about more than just looking good. It’s about inspiring creativity and creating a convenient working space where people can share ideas in a way that is accessible. Because white boards are low-tech, they don’t go wrong, which means you don’t have to leave meeting attendees waiting around whilst the IT team are called. Whiteboard diagrams are rough and ready, but that’s what we all love about them.

But there are other uses for whiteboards too. They can be a great way to communicate with staff, particularly across different shift changes or when managing a hybrid working office environment.

Getting the most from your office whiteboard

Uses for the office whiteboard

  • Brainstorming technical product challenges, planning challenges or identifying marketing opportunities
  • Ice breakers
  • Goal setting and target and progress management
  • Availability or annual leave
  • Contact details

The dry-wipe board

Whiteboards can be either magnetic whiteboards or non-magnetic drywipe boards. There isn’t a great difference in cost, but the magnetic whiteboards or magnetic dry-wipe boards (as they are sometimes referred to), offer the added benefit of being able to hold magnets, making it easy to display paper notes and printouts.

Office whiteboards are available for almost every type of space and use. Smaller drywipe boards may be better for contact details or progress management, whereas a larger board may be better suited to brainstorming in a meeting room. Whatever the need or purpose, we have dry-wipe boards that will fit the bill with a range that includes whiteboards 600mmx400mm and go right up to 1400mmx1200mm.

Cleaning your office whiteboard

Office whiteboards and dry wipe boards are really easy to maintain, but they can look tired if they aren’t kept clean. Warm soapy water or window cleaner on a cloth are both effective in cleaning your whiteboard. Just ensure you always use drywipe board pens!

Alternatives to a whiteboard

An office whiteboard isn’t for everyone. In fact, if you’re short on wall space, an office whiteboard may not be the most sensible way to facilitate such creative discussions. However, at BPF we can supply mobile whiteboards and flip chart easels as well as wall-mounted magnetic drywipe boards and non-magnetic dry-wipe boards.
